Midwest Dog Crates

in Crate

One of the premier brands of dog crates - Midwest dog crates- makes crates for all sizes and temperaments of dogs. From the little 2 lb. puppy or small dog, up to the 110 lb. + full grown dog, and everything in between.

Of course, having so many options can be a little of a mixed blessing. It can be difficult to figure out just what you need and what you don't need.

In this article, I'm going to provide you with some basic information on Midwest dog crates. This information will make it easier for you to decide which crate will work best for your dog and your lifestyle.

Here we go:

1. Not only do you have a wide variety of sizes, you also have a variety of portability too.  There are two main types of wire dog crates, one is geared for greater portability than the other.

If you travel with your dog and you want to take a crate along to keep her safe and secure in a hotel room or at a relatives house, you will probably want to get the fold and carry model of crate.

As you can imagine, the fold and carry is easy to fold and carry! It will be able to be folded up flat and it has carrying handles. It folds up and can be set up quickly and easily and without any tools.

When it is set up it is very secure.

The other option, for those people who don't move their crate very often, is the drop pin style. This crate is also easy to set up and secure once it is up, but it is not meant to be quite as transportable as the fold and carry.

With the drop pin style you attach the panels of the crate to each other by dropping a pin in a hole that connects the panels. You don't need any tools with this model either.

2. The next thing to consider is the sturdiness of the crate. While all Midwest dog crates are built very well and will last a lifetime, some are built to accommodate bigger, more active breeds of dogs.

If you have a small, timid or quiet dog getting the light duty style of crate will be all you need. But, if your dog is a little more active and / or weighs more, you will want to get the heavy duty model.

Getting quality, well built Midwest dog crates for your pet is a great investment. The crate will last throughout your pet's lifetime and will keep her safe and feeling secure.
